Malia Wakinekona
Malia Wakinekona is an Ethics and Leadership Teaching Fellow and Residential Advisor at SEGL in London. Malia grew up in Los Angeles’s South Bay and graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Psychology, concentrating in health & development. In college, Malia worked as a student advocate at the SHARE (Sexual Harassment/Assault Response & Education) Office, danced hula with the Polynesian team Kaorhiva, and documented media's role in shaping peacekeeping efforts in Sarajavo, Bosnia & Herzegovina with the Post Conflict Research Centre. Since college, she has spent her professional career helping create vibrant communities where students feel supported, connected, and inspired. First, as a Residential Advisor, she helped Gap Year Students in NYC set holistic goals, and more recently, she has been assisting American university students in navigating the complexities of studying abroad in London as a Student Services Advisor. In Malia’s free time, you can find her swimming, discussing films, and reading all things on architecture.
